Information & Background

Getting to know Lin at first glance you're probably tempted to think of one saying: Still waters run deep. She's pretty reserved though appearing friendly and polite, a few might even call her open-minded.
She won't bother to chat or small talk however getting to know her or to gain her trust might be somewhat challenging. Even those she calls her friends will keep discovering new sides of her Lin refused to show until some point.
Her pride and the tendency for sarcasm build up walls behind which she uses to hide her vulnerable side. Patience or precise statements however -which tend to drop rather unintentional- will bring it down slowly but steady.
Clumsiness is another remarkable trait of her; she will barely fulfill cooking duty by herself, simply because all inhabitants of the dorm figured by now that either the human or their kitchen interior will be harmed during the process. Though most of the times incidents are rather harmless and give her involuntary audience -and herself in the end as well- a good laugh. For certain individuals it makes an excellent excuse to not leave her unattended.
Moreover Lin is naturally familiar with music, creating her own world apart from reality while singing - to her own shock even quite literally once she enters the Devildom, developing magical abilities little by little.
Other past-times are reading, writing and activities of the 'Formerly Anti-Lucifer League', in which Lin will participate a lot. However, studying, especially for Curses and Hexes, as well as shoving aside her pride and stubborness give her trouble. She avoids to deal with Lucifer and makes no secret of how much she apparently hates him.--*--Being born in Germany shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall as an only child meant two things in particular: growing up in moderate wealth and getting the undivided attention of her parents.
At least until her father, whom blessed the restructuring of the reunited country with unemployment, took a labour supply as a travelling salesman, leaving the little family for days and weeks. Back then Lin wasn't able to proceed how much she missed her dad.
One and a half decades and at least three school switches had turned her into a confident, determined and ambitious young woman, at least to the outside. Aiming for something to reach, be it good grades, making friends or even living up to the expectations of her parents became a constant struggle in her overthinking mind, barely content with what she achieved.
So, less surprising after graduation and similar to her unsteady education, several moves into different cities in Germany followed, each with different goals: training, apprenticeship, university. A coincidence in the end offered a way out of the chaos - a job with perspective, security and variety.
However, the fear to fail and disappoint herself again was something she never could get out of her head.
Lin had finished her training, moved back to her hometown and found a new employer - and herself stable for the first time in years. After three failed relationships there was only one thing missing ... until she was brought into the Devildom, helping to bring a certain future Demon King's vision of a stable relationship between the three worlds to life.Again, a new start. Back to university. In a foreign, hostile environment. With seven demon brothers and a bunch of other human world exchange students, of whom not a single one would care.
That's what she thought at least.

As said above, winning her over is not an easy task - and the more cocksure her counterpart is of him- or herself, the more she will back out. So, her circle of trusted friends and aquaintances is rather small. She simply takes ages to warm up to anyone - or, differently worded:
"Making friends? How does that even work?!"

Lucifer - "A killjoy, who keeps getting on my nerves!"
Love-hate at first sight; although Lin claims to be completely different from the 'stuck-up, arrogant idiot' it's evident how many similarities she shares with the oldest. Her pride and her stubborness don't allow her to give into his orders that easily and rather defiant - after all, she's not a little child anymore! At some point, apart from being subtly thankful for his assistance several times, Lin will become aware of the reason for her reluctance. And will open up more to the first-born - what surely doesn't mean, she won't prank or annoy Lucifer along with the other members of 'FALL' in any situation given!Mammon - "Foolish but somewhat ... adorable airhead."
Has the second-born been one to catch her eye at first, Lin quickly averts Mammon for his apparently careless handling of money and the rather loose understanding about familial properties - not to speak of his great displaced ego and the tendency to draw attention to himself. From time to time she finds herself drawn to Mammon for different reasons - here and then he's indeed capable of a worthwhile dialogue or even some encouraging words. Or to give her a laughter, if anything else fails.Leviathan - "Does he ever leave his room?"
The third-born appears to be one of many mysteries Lin encounters in the House of Lamentation - reclusive, shy and an absolute hopeless case when it comes to most social interactions. They get along at a rather neutral base as she will let him mostly have his way and let Levi draw back himself into his sanctuary without bothering him too much. After all, she's not the very best at leaving her saving nutshell herself and knows how much some individuals value their privacy. Therefore, both tend to keep their distance to each other.Satan - "Sees right through everything - his masks and mine."
Satan's composed behaviour is one of the obstacles to a closer relationship at first. Unable to rate him and his behaviour, emotions apparently locked away, Lin struggles to get along with him. The longer she stays in the Devildom however, the more she gets to know and appreciate Satan and his company which Lin will favor over everyone else. He's the one to expose and shelter her likewise, earning her deepest reluctance, trust and love at once. On the other hand as they open up to each other, Lin finds herself dragged out of her nutshell by him. And suddenly open to try out a lot of different things.Asmodeus - "What a cutie! So helpful and easy-going!"
Being open-minded and mostly in a good mood makes the fifth-born way less complicated than some of his brothers. And therefore a more relaxed aquaintance Lin goes to in search for advices and help regarding Satan, clothing preferences and other trivial matters as cosmetics or styling issues. Knowing which impact she has on his older brother -most of the siblings are rather to have Satan relaxed and content than agitated- Asmo will gladly take her out for shopping or help her with her hair and nails. He's seen as a close friend, not hesitating to share his opinion about Satan's point of view in some cases. And offering her small singing gigs next to him at some point.Beelzebub - "He's a demon? Seems more like a giant teddy bear."
Apart from his overwhelming appetite, Lin gets to know Beel as immensely sensitive and empathic - and not only when it comes to whoever ate his custard. Still, his urge to eat and workout leaves her torn in fact, being neither attracted to cooking nor quite sportive. That's why they get along on a loose, friendly base - which doesn't mean that the sixth-born won't encourage the scaredy cat of a human to try out devilish sports one of his brothers considers way too dangerous - a daring act which eventually strenghtens their bond.Belphegor - "I guess, we share a lot. But I never know for sure."
The laid-back seventh-born is considered a kind and friendly contact from the first day they got to meet. Indeed, Belphie and Lin get along nicely as he's considered a younger brother she never had in her life in the human world. Being knowledgeable about stars and constellations the youngest will teach her on common evenings in the planetarium. Which become rare as soon as Satan and Lin get closer, in contrast to collective 'FALL'-activities.Diavolo - "This silly billy is going to be your next crowned king?!"
Being the future Demon King and president of the student council, Diavolo, despite of his playful nature, appears to be a higher ranked individual of a demon Lin doesn't look out for by herself. She is (eventually) grateful that his vision of a stable balance between the three worlds made her end up in the Devildom and meet everyone else in the end. But she isn't particulary interested in the dark ginger, whose goofiness rather puts her off.Barbatos - "His smile makes me shiver. And, no, not in a good way ..."
Is it still possible for Lin to chuckle over Diavolo's sheenanigans, facing his butler gives her the creeps. Whenever Barbatos is near, she will look out for anyone to shield or to comfort her, even though the Master of Times simply asks her for a cup of tea. At some point a friendly conversation or chit-chat might be feasible, but, similar to the future Demon King Lin won't find herself drawn to Barbatos - except in cases of an emergency or extreme circumstances that require the butler's competency.Simeon - "I'm not going to take anything from him! Neither will Satan!"
Right after arriving in the Devildom, the Seraphin is considered a guardian angel to Lin, but it doesn't last long: the memorable incidents after handing over enchanted bracelets to the brothers is still stuck in her mind, causing a little identity crisis to Satan. As minor and and curable it eventually appears, as vengeful Lin will face Simeon for the time being. Until the angel reveals a secret of his own, not earning her utmost love but surely empathy and at least a little understanding.Luke - "I'm so glad he's with us as well. Always there when I need him."
A bit enervating and annoying at first, Michael's little reporter quickly wins her over due to his wonderful singing voice. Both would use to sing together until Luke shows a part of his true, celestial potential; granting Lin a powerful blessing the small dude finds himself named her little guardian and shepherd, doing his best to live up to this very important role and her expectations. And to protect his humane sheep from any dangers that might be waiting in the three worlds ...Solomon - "Not sure what to think of him ... he's impossible to rate."
The old -how very old actually?!- human sorcerer makes a nice acquaintance here and then in Purgatory Hall or at Café Lament next to Satan, discussing cute cat videos or other fun things. Being a hopeless case regarding magic Lin isn't considered an apprentice, yet Solomon will try his best to help out Satan in tutoring her. Though there are times Lin finds herself drawn to him, Solomon will pull back at the right time, knowing of how much she means to Satan.
And how much the foundations of the Devildom, not to mention, all three worlds depend on the fourth-born's composure.Mephistopheles - "His stickers made me laugh so hard!"
(Yet considered the favorite of the three new side characters. Waiting for the next season and more background)Raphael - "... actually I've had enough of arrogant angels."
